This Cookie Policy explains how Overlander (operated by WestHash) uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform, in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and GDPR. We use only strictly necessary technical cookies: we do not use marketing, profiling, behavioral advertising, social network, or third-party tracking cookies.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to remember preferences, maintain sessions, and collect analytics data. We also use local browser storage for similar purposes.

Essential Cookies and Storage

These are strictly necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled:

  • Authentication Session: secure tokens stored in cookies to keep you logged in. These expire when you log out or after the session timeout.
  • Language Preference: your selected language stored in your browser to provide a consistent experience.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, fully cookieless analytics tool. No cookies, persistent identifiers, or cross-site tracking are used: visitors are identified by an ephemeral hash generated from the request and discarded after 24 hours. Collected data (page views, referrer, country, device type) is aggregated and anonymous. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the platform (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

What We Do NOT Use

For full transparency, we explicitly declare that the platform does NOT use:

  • Marketing or targeted advertising cookies
  • Behavioral profiling cookies
  • Social network cookies or third-party plugins
  • Cross-site tracking or device fingerprinting
  • Third-party cookies for commercial purposes

Managing Cookies

Because we use only strictly necessary technical cookies (exempt from consent under ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3) and consistent with EDPB / national DPA guidance), no consent banner is shown. You can still manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using the platform, as authentication requires session cookies.
